Icons of the 80's - T'Pau, Go West & Tony Hadley at Lincoln Castle

Live Promotions Concerts looks forward to a fantastic evening with Icons of the 80’s stars at Lincoln Castle in 2017

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Go West had their first hit single “We Close Our Eyes”. Other hits followed including “Call Me”, “Goodbye Girl” and “Don’t Look Down”, “Faithful” and the smash hit theme song in the film Pretty Woman “King of Wishful Thinking”.

As lead singer of Spandau Ballet, Tony Hadley has, over the years, earned the accolade of being one of pop music’s greatest vocalists. In addition to all the band’s songs, many will remember his prominent vocal contribution to the Band Aid UK charity single “Do They Know It’s Christmas” and subsequent 1985 London appearance at Live Aid.

T’Pau’s first single “Heart and Soul” was released in 1987 and initially found success in the US after being featured in a Pepe Jeans commercial, before charting in the UK. Their biggest hit “China in Your Hand” hit the top spot in the UK later that year, and stayed at number 1 for 5 weeks.

Bring your picnics, chairs friends and family and enjoy another evening of first class outdoor theatre – no seating provided. Gates 6pm. Performance time tbc

When to arrive
All visitors can enter from the east gate of the Castle, (on Castle Hill,) opposite the Cathedral from 6pm. Collecting pre-paid tickets. If you’ve booked but not collected your tickets then you’ll be able to collect them at the gate. Please bring any confirmation emails or order details with you, along with some form of valid ID.

Where do I collect my tickets?
If you’ve booked through us at the Drill Hall then you can collect your tickets up until 5pm on Saturday 8th July – thereafter your tickets will be available to collect from the gate at the Castle from 6pm on the night.

Where do we sit?
Anywhere that’s available really. It’s an open air concert and you’re invited to bring your own seating so it could be anything from a rug to a deck chair. But please be considerate to your fellow audience members and don’t bring anything too tall (like a gazebo) that people behind you will have problems seeing over.

Can I bring my own refreshments?
Yes absolutely. You’re invited to bring picnics and refreshments but please make sure any drinks are in plastic bottles. Please note: only alcohol purchased on the premises will be permitted at this event.

What if it rains?
This being England, the weather may be showery but please don’t bring large golf umbrellas. Waterproof clothing is advisable and if you want to bring smaller umbrellas that’s fine of course, but please be mindful of other audience members – for viewing purposes, stewards may ask those who use brollies to move to the back of the audience and only those without brollies to the front. The concert will go ahead whatever the weather.

Can I buy more tickets on the night?
If there any tickets available they’ll be sold at the gate from 6pm, however the gate’s likely to be very busy so to avoid disappointment it’s advisable to pre-book on our website or contact our box office on 01522 873894.

Children 5yrs and under do not require a ticket, however please contact us to let us know they’ll be attending because the castle will require this information for fire regulations.

Wheelchair users
There will be a specific section set aside for wheelchair users and their carer – please inform us at the time of booking so that your name is added to the admission list for this section. Please note: carers will be charged at the same rate for this event.
