Hobson’s Choice

Hobson’s Choice is a comedy that tells of the battle of wills between Hobson,a hard-headed and domineering owner of a successful bootmaker’s shop, and his elder daughter Maggie. Maggie defies him by marrying his most talented but timid and downtrodden worker, William Mossop. She helps William to develop his potential and together they turn the tables on Hobson himself, on the way helping her two sisters to marry their chosen partners. Common Ground is a local amateur company and this is the company’s 22nd production.
