Eddi Reader & Special Guest Adam Holmes

After becoming a sought-after session vocalist and touring with the likes of Eurythmics, Eddi Reader found fame with the hugely popular and much missed Fairground Attraction.

The single Perfect and album First of a Million Kisses both topped the British charts. However, it was her subsequent work that showcased her increasing ability to assimilate different musical styles and make them all very much her own.

Her Songs of Robert Burns received critical acclaim and is now seen as a classic, while her seventh solo album, Love Is the Way (featuring work from Brian Wilson and Jack Maher), was followed by sold-out shows all over the world. In the same year she also made her Hollywood debut in the movie Me and Orson Welles, appearing as a singer alongside the likes of Claire Danes and Zac Efron.

From the traditional to the contemporary Eddi brings joyous life to all forms of song. Her rare blend of meltingly true vocals and towering romanticism make her a unique and powerful figure in contemporary British music.

‘Brighter Still’ is the new album from Adam Holmes and the Embers, released June 10th 2016 on Gogar Records. A 25 year old Edinburgh-native, Adam Holmes is currently on tour as a featured singer on John McCusker’s tour. Headline shows in Glasgow and London follow in June and September as well as an appearance at the Edinburgh International Festival as part of Martin Green’s Flit show alongside members of Lau, Mogwai, Portishead and The Unthanks.

Two years on, the new album, ‘Brighter Still’ is eagerly anticipated by folk fans and critics alike, but its combination of haunting melodies, honest lyrics and Adam’s captivating voice will undoubtedly resonate with a wider audience.
